Artists in the Neighbourhood Scheme IV: Ordinary Game ─ Works by Alice Nga-yu Lai
Exhibition Introduction | Introduction of Artist | Artist's Statement | Artworks | Videos | Exhibition Photos | Invitation Card
Artists are only ordinary people, breathing the same air as the rest of us.
Creating art is like playing a game; a game that the artist never gets bored of playing and which starts from the most trivial of familiar objects.
Daily objects, fleeting images, flashing moments of brilliance, free associations, organic forms, profusions of colours, and humorous people and things can all become part of the game as source materials and thematic elements.
Artists live ordinary lives while playing a more or less ordinary game, using their unique perception to share their ordinary delights with an audience that is both ordinary and extraordinary.
